Birks Farm holiday cottages are two stunning properties within two 17th Century Grade II listed barn conversions. The cottages are superbly located on a working farm within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and within easy reach of the Lake District. Just 2 miles from the holiday cottages is Sedbergh, a picturesque new book town. From the doorstep of the accommodation there are superb walks through rolling farmland and dramatic countryside, all served by well maintained yorkshire dales' footpaths. The holiday cottages are in the privileged position of having Britain's highest waterfall, Cautley Spout, a mere 1.5 miles down the road and nearby Dentdale, a stunning area of natural beauty. Sedbergh, just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, bordering the Lake District, is an ancient market town in Northern Dentdale. The town is framed by a stunning backdrop of dramatic hillsides and boasts the charm of an olde worlde town, with narrow winding streets, small shops, traditional pubs, famous rugby school and 12th century church.
The two cottages, Knott View and Brant View are ideal rental accommodation to relax in the countryside. The cottages can be likened to a secluded ranch, boasting both uninterrupted privacy and breathtaking open views of the surrounding valley and Howgill Fells.

The local area is also home to various wildlife including pheasants and badgers, and an evenings badger watch can be arranged at the farm. With Farfield Art and Heritage Centre and the towns of Hawes and Dent all within easy reach, these lovely properties make an ideal base in which to relax and unwind and from which to tour both the lakes and Dales at any time of the year.

Also nearby is the town of Dent, with cobbled streets dating back to Norman times. Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales, stretches 14 miles, with its rolling hills and dry stone walls.
Both cottages offer a spacious patio are with furniture for guests to sit out and relax and take in the surroundings. The cottages are spacious, restored with great care to ensure a memorable stay, Knott View offers two comfortable bedrooms and Brant View now provides three. For larger parties both holiday cottages can be booked together.
The area is a walker's paradise, the tranquility of the surrounding valleys and the two nearby National Parks, makes an ideal year-round holiday destination for the whole family.

Things to Do

There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, sailing & fishing. There is also a local stables where it is possible to hire horses for riding and guests can bring their own horses to the farm. Also in the nearby town there is bike hire.
